Who is TouchPoint

TouchPoint, a Contemporary Christian band based out of Roanoke, VA, is on a mission to spread the word of God through music and prayer. The name of the band originates from John 15:5, when Jesus says, “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.” The point where the trunk and branch meet is called the “touch point” and this is where the abiding takes place. Through their music, they want to open the way for others to form a closer relationship to Jesus and experience His Glory.

TouchPoint was formed in 2009 by Jim Giannini, Bill James, MarLane Knuppel, Annette Meyer, Jeff Myers, and Lisa Whitaker, members of the praise team at St. John Lutheran Church. They have been influenced by a variety of contemporary artists, from Paul Baloche to Third Day. They’ve played regularly at local churches, the Roanoke Rescue Mission, and 2nd Helpings Gallery. They also appeared at Festival in the Park in Roanoke, Va.

One moment that really exemplified their mission to bring people to God through music was, after performing Baloche's "Open the Eyes of My Heart" a man told them it was that song which brought him to Jesus while he was in prison. Right now they are working on recording their first CD, and continue to perform locally.
